Ninja Gaiden Master Collection

Overview

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection is a compilation of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. It was released on Microsoft Windows through Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 10, 2021, the first time the Sigma games came to Nintendo and Xbox platforms.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma began as the 2004 Team Ninja game Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox, a reboot of the series in which players control the master ninja Ryu Hayabusa on a quest to recover a stolen sword and avenge the slaughter of his clan. It is set in the same world as Team Ninja's Dead or Alive fighting games. In 2007 it was ported to PlayStation 3 as Ninja Gaiden Sigma, with graphical improvements and gameplay changes.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, is a 2009 action-adventure game developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo Koei for the PlayStation 3. It is a port of the 2008 Xbox 360 game Ninja Gaiden II. It includes the whole original story mode, with changes to the design, updated textures and a 720p resolution, in a similar way to what Sigma did to the first game.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is a 2012 action-adventure game developed by Team Ninja. It first came out for the Wii U, and Tecmo Koei released it for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April 2013. It is an enhanced port of Ninja Gaiden 3 that includes all downloadable content from the original title plus further changes, and it is the equivalent of the Sigma games for that entry.
