What I'm trying to do
I want to do my part for the video game playing, preservation and collection hobby. And then maybe there are some other ideas where we could use it to make the hobby more inclusive and more sustainable over the long term, where it's not impacted by:
What I make
Hauls
I'll pick up some games that I actually want in my collection. If I get a good deal then I'll buy it, bring it here, show it to you, and then tell you where the collection stands.
Reviews
Not tailored, not structured and not designed in any way, simply my opinions on games. They might differ from other people's in some ways and be the same in others. I have mixed opinions about stuff, so I'll just talk about what I feel about a certain game, what I liked about it and what I didn't.
What I played last week
Sometimes I play a lot of Dota. Other times I play one game. For two weeks in December I played Clair Obscur, and that's all I played. I'll just talk about what I'm doing and what I'm playing.
How I play
I play on the easiest difficulty. I can't grind games anymore. I can't play on hard or medium. I play on the story difficulty and I do use guides as well. I really don't have the mental energy after work to sit down and grind it out. I found it a lot easier on the mind and the body, so there's no stress in games. It's just something that I enjoy doing, and that helps me keep going. Maybe a lot of you do that as well.
There was a time when I tried to be a completionist and get all the trophies, the platinums, the achievements. Right now it's just about clearing as much of my backlog as I can. Not playing all the games, but playing as much as I want to or am able to.
If you'd like to see all of it in one place, the Journal is here. And if you'd like to write for the magazine, tell us about it.
