Overview

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, known as Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in PAL territories, is a 2009 platform game published by Activision. It is based on the computer-animated film of the same name. The game came out in 2009 for Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Windows, Nintendo DS and iOS.

The player takes control of Manny, Sid, Buck, Scrat, Scratte and Diego as they take on or run away from dangerous dinosaurs, roll eggs to safety, chase their beloved acorn and explore caves and jungles. A demo was made available on the Xbox Live Marketplace on June 15, 2009, as well as a computer demo.

Reviews were mixed to average for most versions, according to the review aggregator Metacritic, with the iOS and Wii versions doing best. GameSpot said of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions that the game is kid-friendly, funny and faithful to the movie, but also repetitive and over too quickly.

Notes for collectors

• The disc has three IDs: BLUS30293 for North America and BLES00522 and BLES00525 for Europe.
• The platinum needs all five sets of 16 crystals plus every time and score challenge, and no trophy needs online play.
• Sony's patch server lists no update for any of the three IDs.
• Eurocom made the console versions; the Nintendo DS and iOS versions came from other studios.
