ShooterPuzzleAdventureIndie
Red Matter 2 is a sci-fi puzzle adventure for virtual reality by the Spanish studio Vertical Robot, and the sequel to Red Matter. It first came out on Meta Quest 2 and PC in 2022, and the PlayStation VR2 version followed on 18 May 2023. You play Agent Sasha Riss, following a distress signal across moons, orbital stations and abandoned Volgravian facilities toward the force known as Red Matter. The story carries on from the first game, but you do not need to have played it.
You solve physics and logic puzzles, hack secure terminals, cross low-gravity areas with a jetpack and fight off Volgravian security drones. The PS VR2 version runs at a native 120 frames per second with no reprojection, uses eye-tracked foveated rendering and 4K remastered textures, and adds headset and controller haptics and adaptive trigger effects.
