S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - Enhanced Edition

Overview

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a 2008 first-person shooter and survival horror game by GSC Game World, a prequel to Shadow of Chornobyl. You play Scar, a mercenary who survives the deadly Emissions, working with the Clear Sky faction to stop Strelok. Its biggest addition is the faction war: groups fight over territory, and you can join Loners, Duty, Freedom or the Bandits, or stay neutral. Weapons and suits can be repaired and upgraded, artifacts hide inside anomalies and need a detector to find, guides offer paid fast travel, and Emissions force you to find cover or die.

The Enhanced Edition came to PlayStation 5 on 20 May 2025, at US$19.99 a game or US$39.99 for the trilogy, and was free for owners of the 2024 PS4 version. It adds new lighting with godrays, screen space reflections and global illumination, upscaled textures and more detailed models, new water shaders and skyboxes, 4K cinematics, four performance modes up to 120 frames per second on PS5 and PS5 Pro, keyboard and mouse support, and mods shared through mod.io.
