Overview

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a 2026 action-adventure game developed primarily by Ubisoft Singapore and published by Ubisoft. A remake of the 2013 game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, originally developed by Ubisoft Montreal, it was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on July 9, 2026. Resynced acts as the fifteenth main installment in the Assassin's Creed series, with its modern day story continuing the story arc that began in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Like the original, it is set in the Caribbean in the last years of the Golden Age of Piracy and follows the pirate Edward Kenway, mixing exploration on foot with sailing and naval battles. Built on the latest Ubisoft Anvil engine, it keeps the original map but rebuilds the characters and places, reworks combat, stealth, parkour and sailing, and adds recruitable officers for the Jackdaw, more underwater exploration, weather that changes how the ship handles, and new story scenes with Anne Bonny, Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. Replaying old missions was removed.
