About the game
Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues is a 2009 action-adventure game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by LucasArts. It is the sequel to Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures from 2008 and came out for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows, with a Mac version from Feral Interactive in 2011. A different handheld game with the same name was made for Nintendo DS and PSP.
It retells the first four Indiana Jones films, including Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which the first game left out, with new scenes and a lot of humour. Each film is a playset with five story levels and its own hub, and the Crystal Skull film is split into three playsets. The hubs are big maps based on locations from the films, with puzzles, characters to buy and vehicles to drive.
You control a Lego figure in third person. Story levels include boss fights, vehicle levels, waves of enemies and puzzles, and extra levels are hidden in the hubs. There are more than 80 characters, bought with studs, and each has abilities such as a whip, high jumps, wrenches, shovels or guns. Two-player co-op uses a split screen that joins and separates as the players move.
It is also the first Lego game with a level creator, where you build levels from blocks, traps, animals and programmable enemies, plus an adventure creator for changing existing levels and a character creator. Levels cannot be shared online.
The game was announced on May 29, 2009 after an animator's public resume leaked its existence in March. It was released in North America on November 17, 2009, in Europe on November 20 and in Australia on November 25. On November 23, LucasArts said a patch for PS3 and Xbox 360 would add online co-op.
Reviews were mixed. Critics liked the level creator and the humour, and disliked the confusing hub worlds and the lack of online play at launch, and most felt it was weaker than the first game. It was still a commercial success.

Good to know
- There are more than 80 characters to unlock.
- The level creator does not let you share levels online, which several reviewers called a major gap.
- The disc ships as two regional versions, patch 01.01 in North America and 01.02 in Europe, each around 13 MB.
- The Nintendo DS and PSP game of the same name is a different game with different levels.
- The first game's story levels ran longer for the first three films. This sequel trims them and gives the Crystal Skull film three playsets.
