About the game

The Lego Movie Videogame is a 2014 Lego-themed action-adventure game developed by TT Fusion. It is a tie-in with the animated film The Lego Movie, follows the plot of the film and uses its characters and settings.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment published it alongside the film in 2014 for Windows, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Feral Interactive released a Mac OS X version on October 16, 2014, and mobile ports followed on iOS in January 2015 and Android in May 2016.

It plays like earlier Lego games from TT Games: you control characters from the film and use Lego pieces to get through open levels, with footage from the film as cutscenes. For the first time in the series, all environments except the bonus area are made entirely of Lego pieces.

There are two new character types. Regular Builders can only build objects by following instruction pages found in each level. Master Builders can grab pieces from the environment and make something new. Other abilities include using switches as Lord Business, hacking computers, breaking gold bricks with lasers and putting out fires.

Reviews were positive. Metacritic scores were 71 for PS4 and 69 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Critics praised the humour and the look, with one calling it one of the better movie tie-in games, and several noted that it is familiar and has less content than other Lego games.
