Overview

The NES controller is the flat rectangular pad that came with the NES: D-pad, Select, Start, B and A. It's the layout nearly every controller since has built on.

Unlike the Famicom, the NES has controller ports, so pads can be swapped and replaced. A rounded dogbone version came with the top-loading NES in 1993.
