Overview

The AV Famicom, or New Famicom, is the Japanese counterpart to the NES top loader, released on 1 December 1993. It's the same shape as the NES-101 but takes Famicom cartridges.

Unlike the American model it has composite AV output, and the controllers unplug, using the same dogbone design. The microphone on the second controller is gone. It's one of the nicest ways to play Famicom games on a modern setup.
